For my significant writing project I chose Project 2. This essay consisted of using the different texts given in class to identify the magnitude that the UNE core curriculum offers a true liberal arts education. The sources from class we were allowed to use were both written by proponents of liberal arts education over a technical education. The two main texts, “Critical Thinking and the Liberal Arts” and “7 Major Misperceptions About the Liberal Arts”, were used to develop a definition of what a true liberal arts education should be. These requirements that were given by the in class texts were used as the criteria to determine if UNE’s curriculum was truly a liberal arts education. I concluded that UNE did offer a liberal arts education, but had room for improvement.

I chose this project because I think it showcases my strongest writing ability out of the three. I believe my quote integration was much better, and my ideas were more well organized and clear. I really took all the feedback my peers gave me, which I think was better for project 2 as well. The feedback helped me see a lot of weakness in my paper. Overall I think this paper was well structured and all my ideas connected to each other. I tried to make use of all the texts in class to provide my essay with as much information and evidence as I thought it needed. Although there is always room for improvement I think Project 2 was much stronger throughout especially compared to my first project.
